2 inches of new snow

A little WHITE stuff fell overnight, leaving us with about 2 inches of fresh.  20 degrees overnight, new snow and snowmaking means a great day for skiing and riding.

Weekend update - Clear skies, 90% open, 2 Terrain Parks with lots of new features, Ice Skating, Tubing, Ridgely's Fun Park, Freestyle equipment demos at the Top of Eagles Swoop......what am I forgetting??  This weekend is likely to be the best of the 13/14 season, make plans to head this way!

Operating Hours:

Skiing and Riding on 22 trails with 4 lifts operating.  - Open 9a - 9p

Terrain Park:

Upper Diamond Hill Progression Park-  OPEN -  2 16ft flat boxes, 12ft flat rail, small jump, and a small down rail.

Main Park- UPPER SECTION OPEN - 20ft flat rail, urban style handrail with a kink, 20ft flat box and a box jam.

The jump landings in the main park are complete, we need snow for the takeoffs.  Snowmaking overnight Wednesday night lasting through the workweek should complete the takeoffs and allow Chris and his crew to add more features before the big weekend.

Tubing:

The Plunge is open with sessions from 1:30p - 8:30p

Ridgely's Fun Park is open Saturday and Sunday from 11a-4p

SNOWMAKING PLAN HEADED INTO THE WEEKEND:

Great weather forecast for the next 5 days.  Average high temp of around 32 degrees and average low temp of around 20 degrees.  And the best news of all.....DRY weekend with lots of SUN.  While not perfect for daytime snowmaking efforts, the forecast is a nice blend of great ski/ride weather and great overnight snowmaking.

The ski area is in good shape, needing only a little repair in a few areas and a new layer of snow to improve the overall surface.  We are pushing snow around overnight, dressing up areas and widening where we can.  Our snowmaking plan is relatively straight forward - refresh everything with a couple inches of new snow, fix weak spots, add snow and features in both Terrain Parks and finish Big Acorn.  We might get Acorn open for Saturday, however, Sunday looks much more likely.  We will run on it hard from now until opening day in an effort to get it open as soon as we can.  Look for progress updates over the next few days.
