2 inches of new snow and still snowing!

More new snow overnight and a little more expected this am.  When it is all over, we should have 3-4 inches total.  GREAT conditions with Freestyle Demos at the top of Big Acorn.

Skiing and Riding on 26 trails with 5 lifts operating. - 9a to 10p.  Machine groomed powder and packed powder surface.  Highlands is un-groomed with a clarification...everything except Outer Limits and Turkey Shoot were groomed overnight before this new snow arrived.  Lots of fresh snow on The Highlands this AM!

Terrain Park: 

Upper Diamond Hill Progression Park - OPEN - 16ft flat box, 16ft down box, A frame box, disco box, 2 small jumps, small down rail, 15ft flat rail, up rail and a mini quarter pipe.

Main Park - OPEN - urban style handrail, elbow kink, 20ft down tube, side by side rail, up tank, 20ft rail set up on a spine, up box, tank with euro gap and two jumps (1 medium and 1 large).

Blue Skies and INCREDIBLE conditions!

Still digging out from a big snow event.  Snow ended temporarily around 2pm leaving behind 15+ inches.  Around 4pm, the storm wrapped around and dropped another 5 inches....  All in, it looks like around 20 inches of snow fell over the 24 hour period.  It is a Winter wonderland up here!

BIG SNOW!

No clue where to measure...  Some places 12 inches other places more than 2 feet.  Conservative guess - more than a foot of new snow and still snowing.

The Ski Area will operate today, however, we could have a few delays.  We are in, digging out and getting things running.

BIG snow on the way!

Predictions vary between forecasts, however, everyone is talking about at least 10 inches of new snow.  Some forecasts suggest 15+.  Snow should start falling later this afternoon and last through mid-day Thursday.  Wintergreen is a great place to get snowed in.  Make plans to be here tonight and ski fresh snow for the next few days!

BIG storm Wednesday night into Thursday!

Big snow looks more and more likely for the overnight period Wednesday into Thursday.  Should start late Wednesday afternoon and snow through the day on Thursday leaving behind 8-12 inches (possibly more) of fun.  If you need a powder day, make plans to stay with us Wednesday night.  Road conditions could make travel into the resort Thursday morning slow going.  Wake up here and get first tracks!

Snowmaking Update:  limited slope closures again today allowing us to focus our snowmaking efforts and cut way back on open trails.  Other than a few fan guns running on open terrain, our air water stick guns will be focused on: Upper Cliffhanger, Devils Elbow and Big Acorn.  These trails will re-open tomorrow AM.

Making Snow

Temporary slope closures today and tomorrow allowing us to focus snowmaking on a few closed trails.  All of these trails will re-open the following day.  Trails closed today for snowmaking include: Lower Cliffhanger, Lower Diamond Hill, Upper and Lower Sunrise and Tequila.  Trails likely closed tomorrow for snowmaking: Acorn, Upper Cliffhanger down to Loggers Alley and Devils Elbow.

BIG STORM WEDNESDAY???

We are watching another storm system that should pass through Wednesday into Thursday.  Some reports suggest 10 inches or more of fun....  Bring it on!

Freestyle - Blue Ridge Double Cross Today!
