INCREASED TRAIL COUNT FOR THE WEEKEND!


Portions of the ski area are without power this morning, causing a delayed opening.  Power crews are on site working on getting power restored.  We plan to open today from 10a to 9p, skiing and riding on 9 trails with 3 lifts operating.    Portions of the ski area remain un-groomed, with thin areas and bare spots.

Overnight tonight, we will make snow while our grooming crews move stockpiled snow, covering thin areas and re-opening closed trails.  Overnight Friday, we will make new snow, continue moving stockpiles of snow and re-open terrain.  Snowmaking temperatures start Thursday and last through the weekend.  We plan to have great conditions and more than 20 trails open for the weekend.

Tubing:  The Plunge is open today with sessions from 2p-9p.  Ridgelys Fun Park re-opens this weekend from 11a-4p.  Purchase tickets in advance online for these popular activities.

Terrain Park:  The big park will remain closed today, re-opening tomorrow with new features.  Upper Diamond will be open today and tonight with progression rail features

SNOWMAKING TEMPERATURES RETURN TOMORROW!


We are open today from 9a-5p, skiing and riding day sessions only.  We have 15 trails with 3 lifts operating.    Portions of the ski area remain un-groomed, with thin areas and bare spots.

Overnight tonight, our grooming staff will begin moving stockpiled snow, covering thin areas and re-opening closed trails.  Overnight Thursday into Friday, we will make new snow, continue moving stockpiles of snow and re-open terrain.  Snowmaking temperatures start Thursday and last through the weekend.  We plan to have great conditions and 25 trails open for the weekend.

The National Weather Service is forecasting severe weather for our area this afternoon and evening.  As a precaution, the ski area will close at 5pm today and re-open at 9am Thursday morning.

BIG ACORN OPENS TODAY!


2-3 inches of snow expected later today.  Conditions will be fantastic this weekend!

We are open today from 9a-10p, skiing and riding on 19 trails with 4 lifts operating.  The Plunge tubing park is open today with sessions from 4-11p.

  • Big Acorn - Today
  • Both Terrain Parks, Devils Elbow & The Gap - Saturday
  • Outer Limits - possible Saturday, definitely Sunday

1-2 inches of snow fell overnight with 2-3 inches expected tomorrow.  Conditions will be fantastic this weekend!

5-10 INCHES OF SNOW THURSDAY?

Weather models made a big switch overnight prompting a big change in our forecast.  All of the cold air headed our way could mix nicely with a wet weather system coming up from down south.  Once the storm moves out overnight Thursday into Friday, it could leave behind 6-12 inches of snow.  Bring it on!

COLD, SNOW AND SLOPES RE-OPENING THIS WEEK

We are open today from 9a-9p skiing and riding on 14 trails with 5 lifts operating. The Plunge is open today with sessions starting at 10a and ending at 9p.

Temperatures will remain mild today with a mix of clouds and sun.  Starting overnight tonight, temperatures will begin to decline with below freezing temperatures expected by Monday night.  In addition to cold air, our weather forecast hints at the possibility of some natural snow over the next couple of days.  Elevation is a wonderful thing!

With the January thaw coming to an end, we are switching into slope rebuild mode.  Cold temperatures forecasted for this week will allow us to make lots of snow, increase base depths, re-open closed trails and provide fantastic conditions for the upcoming weekend.  Keep checking this report for the most current slope information including slope openings and our snowmaking plans.

UPPER WILD TURKEY AND BOTH TERRAIN PARKS OPEN TODAY!

Our Snowmaking and Grooming Staff continue to work extra hard, opening UpperTurkey, Cross Cut, Lower Cliffhanger and both Terrain Parks today.  Conditions should be fantastic!

We are open today from 9am-10pm, skiing and riding on 20 trails with 5 lifts operating.  The Plunge will be open with sessions starting at 10am and ending at 11pm.  Ridgely's Fun Park will be open from 11am-4pm.

Temperatures moderate a little this week, allowing for overnight snowmaking and daytime highs above freezing.  A great week to ski and ride!

MAKING GREAT SNOW!

As of 6am, the average snowmaking temperature across the mountain is approximately 19.5 degrees.  At this temperature, we are pumping 7,400 gallons of water per minute through our snowguns!  3,400 more than ever before.  Awesome!

We are skiing and riding on 15 trails today with 4 lifts running.  We will open at 9am and close at 10pm.  The Plunge will be open with sessions starting at 2pm and ending at 11pm.

Upper Turkey and Lower Cliffhanger are almost finished, both of these trails will open tomorrow morning.  The Terrain Park Crew will be busy all day today and tonight building the main park and moving features off Upper Dobie.  The park should be great this weekend, make plans to check it out.

Cold air and very little wind overnight provided perfect conditions for making snow.  Overnight tonight we expect more of the same with both Terrain Parks, Devils Elbow and Upper Turkey on our to get open list.  All of this terrain is expected to open this weekend.  Keep checking this report for the most up to date information.

SNOWMAKING TEMPS RETURN

Temperatures are starting to fall, allowing us to begin making snow during the day today.  Our snowmaking focus over the next few days includes building up base depths and opening more terrain for the weekend.  Upper Wild Turkey, Devils Elbow, Big Acorn and both Terrain Parks should be open later this week.  Keep checking this report for details about snowmaking and slope conditions.

Terrain Park update.  We will continue to make snow in both the Progression Park and the Terrain Park over the next several days.  We plan to transition from the temporary park on Upper Dobie into both parks for this weekend.

HAPPY NEW YEAR - more terrain open today!



Our Snowmaking and Grooming team are putting in long yours and huge effort, Upper Diamond Hill and Loggers Alley trails open today.   

We will be open from 9am until 9pm skiing and riding on 16 trails with 5 lifts running.  Conditions are fantastic with an average base of 20-30 inches.  A little natural snow is on the way with total daytime snow accumulation should be 1-2 inches.

The Plunge is open with seesions from 10am-9pm.  Ridgely's Fun Park is open with sessions from 11am-4pm.
